JEM (formerly Fusion Experience) is the first & longest-running Queer Salsa/Bachata event in NYC. Founded in 2022, we are an Afro-Latin Dance Social that breaks Gender binaries by working to provide a safe & comfortable space for LGBTQ+ community/Allies to learn from Afro-Latin dance and other art forms. JEM stands for Joy, Education, Movement. Our goal is to provide a workshop/dance social and learning community that goes beyond movement while hiring artists that value intersectionality, safety, and diversity within art and movement.
